On Sunday, May 3, walkers of all ages on the Sunshine Coast will be joining thousands of Canadians across the country to raise funds for hospice palliative care programs and services. The Hike for Hospice will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Porpoise Bay Provincial Park. Come at 11:30 a.m. and let Reg, Lynne and Friends entertain you while you enjoy hot dogs, beef burgers and veggie burgers provided by the Sunshine Coast Lions Club.
At 1 p.m., after a brief warm-up, join other participants for an easy, flat, two km walk around gorgeous Porpoise Bay Park. After the walk, stay for the door prize draw. You may win a Tuwanek Hotel Stay-cation package. Each $100 you raise gives you one chance to win. The more money you raise the more chances of winning.
Sign up as an individual, or better still, create a team. Register online at www.coasthospice.com or in person on the day of the event.
Hike for Hospice is the Sunshine Coast Hospice Society’s biggest fundraiser of the year.
Funds from this event provide compassionate, respectful end-of-life and bereavement support for all residents on the Sunshine Coast. All of the funds raised will stay in our community.
