Pender Harbour & Egmont

This Saturday, April 4 is the annual Egmont Easter Hat Tea from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Egmont Community Hall.

Bring your wildest Easter hat and join in the Easter Egg hunt, enjoy good food and great company. See: www.egmontcommunityclub.webs.com for more details.

This Sunday, April 5 is the annual Lions Club Easter Egg hunt and pancake breakfast from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lions Park. Breakfast will be served starting at 9 a.m. with the hunt starting at noon. There are three different age categories: under four, five to eight and nine and over.

The Food Bank opens every second Monday from noon to 12:30 p.m. The next day it will open is this Monday, April 6.

Put your best foot forward and take in the magnificent beauty of our Coast Mondays and Wednesdays with the Pender Harbour hiking club. Call 604-883-2930 for more details on how you can join them.

A reminder that every Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. is ladies night at the Sechelt Rod and Gun Club. Admission is $25. Come have fun and learn the basics of shooting and gun safety.

Drop-in for some pickleball fun every Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Pender Harbour Secondary School (PHSS).

The next gathering of Harbourside Friendship is Thursday, April 9 at 10 a.m. at the Pender Harbour Community Hall. Guest speaker is Sunshine Coast RCMP Const. Jason Aho who will give a presentation on anti-fraud awareness. Lunch will follow at the community hall for a modest $10 fee.

Drop-in for soccer every Thursday night from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at PHSS.

An income tax preparation program has started for eligible people in Madeira Park, Garden Bay and beyond hosted by Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church. The free clinics are being held at the Community School on Wednesdays and Mondays at the church office. Call 604-865-0336 to make an appointment.

The School of Music’s April coffeehouse is next Friday, April 10 and features an all Pender Harbour line-up.

Enjoy Katrina Bishop, voice, piano, original songs from Dawn Loverock and Teal Loverock, and new solo material from Mark Vance. Doors open at 7 p.m. with music at 7:30.

This is a terrific monthly event, showcasing a variety of musicians in an inviting cabaret setting. Admission is by suggested donation of $10 at the door.
