Ten tubers for $10 from Beads & Blooms. Also, Judy’s Handcrafted Gifts has the perfect Easter treasure for you and yours.

Volunteers are the heart and soul that keep our community healthy and happening. April 17 to 23 is National Volunteer Week. Show your appreciation, acknowledgement, and thanks by posting on any of the “Appreciation Boards” around the community.

Wednesday, April 20, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., a Volunteer Appreciation Tea will be hosted at the Community Hall by Seniors Initiative, PH Community School, PH Aquatic and Fitness Centre and the PH Health Centre. Your organization/group’s volunteers are invited to drop by for refreshments and cake. There will be a display recognizing the fine work of community volunteers. If you have something for the display, please drop it off prior to the event.

Sunday, April 24, the Pender Harbour Music Society presents the second concert in their series: “Marleyn & Fraser,” Cellist Paul Marleyn with pianist Silvia Fraser at the School of Music at 2 p.m. Tickets $25 at www.penderharbourmusic.ca

The Women’s Connection Council is all a buzz about starting up again on Tuesday, April 26, after two long years without seeing their members. Their first feature speaker will be Steve Clifford of Halfmoon Honey who will talk about his 40-year career as a commercial beekeeper, as well give tips for the honey bee hobbyist in our area. If you have thought of having a bee hive in your garden, interested to learn more about bees or simply love honey, this will be an intriguing and educational meeting. At this time, the WC will be accepting donations instead of the usual fees. All current B.C. COVID protocols will be followed. The Women’s Connection is a wonderful way to meet other women if you are a newcomer to Pender Harbour and to be informed of what is happening in the community with interesting speakers and events. Doors open at 9:45 a.m. Presentation at 10 a.m.
