The Apple Festival celebration will take place this weekend at Coopers Green. Many thanks for the donations of apples from our local trees, and several applesauce-making volunteers, including three cooking classes from Chatelech. The applesauce will go into the big copper kettle on Oct. 17 when apple butter will be made over the fire.
Tickets are on sale at HMB General Store and Welcome Woods Market for the Applefest’s Boogie Night on Oct. 17. Tickets are $15 each and include snacks, a glass of beer, wine or cider, and entertainment by Playback, a four-piece classic rock band who specialize in ‘60s and ‘70s rock that you can dance to.
Halfmoon Bay Café will be having their entertaining and inspirational soup tasting at the festival. You can get a taste of each soup, select your favourite, and purchase to take home. A portion of the funds raised will go to HMB daycare/food bank. They will also have fresh baking on site at Coopers Green. See www.halfmoonbayapplefestival.com for more.
