The Sunshine Coast Volunteer Centre has a new way of celebrating National Volunteer Week this year. National Volunteer Week is April 21 to 27 across Canada and gives organizations and communities a chance to recognize and thank their volunteers.
This year, the Volunteer Centre, along with local Gibsons champion Jon Hird, is organizing a Volunteer Fair. An invitation went out to many organizations on the Coast, and so far, about 30 groups have signed up to showcase their organizations at Sunnycrest Mall on Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, see the Volunteer Centre website at www.scvolunteer.com.
The fair is a wonderful way to find out about volunteer opportunities on the Coast. Each table will be manned by local volunteers and they will have prizes and treats for the people who stop by each station. Come meet some new people and see what volunteering is all about.
