Spring is in the air! What better time to get excited about the world class mountain bike trails we have in our backyard?
To help us do this, the Mountain Bike Operations students at Capilano University are putting on four events the last week of March. Mark your calendars; they are going to be fun, informative, and free.
Here are all the details:
On Thursday March 26 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. is the Sprockids Park stakeholder meeting for the future of Sprockids Park at the Gibsons and Area Community Centre. Whether you four-wheel, ride, run, horse ride, or dog walk, this event if for you. Students will facilitate an interactive discussion on the future of the park and there will be a chance to win some sweet prizes.
The next afternoon, on Friday, March 27 at 3 p.m. is the Kinnikinnick Kraze. Join students as they unveil their trail in the park with a guided walk, kids’ activities and a free barbecue. This will be a fun for the whole family.
On Saturday, March 28 starting at 10 a.m. is the Extreme Makeover Sprockids Edition. Get down and dirty and join students in giving the famous Sprockids Skills Park some love. Come prepared to work and then celebrate with lunch and a pump track jam!
The final event is Sunday, March 29 at 11 a.m. called Post the Coast. Come out and give the West Sechelt trails some new signage. This will be another work party with Lucky’s Smokehouse food on site as well as other surprises.
