Going to school on an empty stomach happens in our community more than we might think.
The Breakfast for Kids Program (B4K) works each year to bring food to our local schools to ensure all who need nourishment get it – no charge, no discrimination. The food is available for all students.
The program works through funding drives and volunteers. A wide source of funding continues to support this initiative.
Pictured are a few of the students with Kinnikinnick Elementary School principal Jeff Marshall, B4K program coordinator Ted Chisholm, Paul Toynbee and Greg Falls, past presidents of the Coasters Car Club, which contributed $1,000, along with Norm Blair, president of the Rotary Club of Sechelt, which also contributed $1,000.
A funding drive for next year will be occurring soon.
