Large numbers of sea lions have been sighted – and heard – on the Sunshine Coast in recent weeks, especially in the tidal areas between Bonniebrook and Sechelt. This group was photographed from the beach west of Sechelt on Sunday, March 31.

The five Charles Murray carvings in the photograph accompanying this article are part of a collection donated to the Sechelt Community Archives by Charles’ wife, the late Alice Murray.

Thrushes are a cosmopolitan family of birds that includes some very familiar and very famous birds.
