Members of the 6th Roberts Creek Scout Group got ready to saddle up Aug. 4 for a trip to the Flying U Ranch near 70 Mile where eight kids from the troop had a chance to ride horses at one of Canada’s oldest guest ranches.

The Rotary Club of Pender Harbour held its 16th annual people’s choice Show & Shine on Sunday, Aug. 11 at the Royal Canadian Legion in Madeira Park. Light showers held some participants back, but it turned into a beautiful sunny afternoon.

Have you noticed my new (old) photo in the print version of the paper? I recently came across an old typewriter, sat down and declared that I could type this column on it. My husband snapped the photo.
