As a member of the Canadian Association for Photographic Art (CAPA), the Sunshine Coast Camera Club has participated in several national and regional competitions during the 2019-20 competition year.

The Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary has announced that eight grants totalling $55,000 have been awarded under its granting program.

Yet another school year begins. There will be children at our elementary school, marvelling at the new playground, finding new ways to get scrapes and bruises to confound the designers’ attempt to take ALL the fun out of it.

The weekend brings with it good times in the Harbour; music, dining, shopping and getting outside to enjoy some of best natural venues on the planet.

COVID-19 puts a damper on Kitchensink Rescue Farm’s fundraising efforts

Last week, the Sunshine Coast Community Foundation was grateful to receive the final installment of a bequest from the will of Jonathan Mason Hird, a longtime Gibsons resident. Jon grew up in Australia, the youngest of three children.

Bird migration has always been a source of wonder for humanity and September is the prime month for movements in the fall. Most of the migration is unseen, taking place at night to avoid predation and allow for feeding during the daylight hours.

Toastmasters, I thought my only task would be giving speeches. Now, after two years, I realize that the club is built on generosity, a team environment, filled with practice, followed by constructive feedback on how to grow and improve.
