Sunshine Coast Community Forest (SCCF) operations manager Dave Lasser will retire at the end of the year after nine years in the position, SCCF announced this week.

“Dave has brought his many years of experience in varied aspects of the forest industry to competently guide our company and its board in this challenging business,” SCCF said in a press release Monday.

“Thanks to Dave’s stewardship, the SCCF has been able, since 2014, to provide $2,477,000 for the Legacy Fund of our shareholder the District of Sechelt. The SCCF wants to thank Dave for his years of service and wishes him the best for his retirement.”

The SCCF also announced that Warren Hansen will take over operations manager duties in the new year under a contract with Chartwell Consultants Ltd.

“Warren, through Chartwell, has been providing engineering and other services to SCCF from when our first trees were harvested,” the release said. “He knows our tenure area and forestry issues very well and is eager to take on this new role.”
