Skater of the Month

Skater of the Month for March is Teigan Turner. Teigan is a year-round skater. She is thrilled to be able to skate on the Sunshine Coast for April and May this year, which will mean only having to travel off-Coast for June and July. Teigan’s progress can be attributed to her commitment level. She skates five days a week, has taken the program assistant training and helps assist with the CanSkate learn-to-skate program, allowing her to give back to the club, younger skaters and the community. She participates in off-ice fitness and mental prep, does skating ballet as well as additional fitness training and mental prep privately. Teigan recently won a bronze medal at the Regional Championships and based on her high scores has received an invitation to the provincial Development Camp in Kelowna in April. She will compete in April in the Super Series competition on Vancouver Island and in May at the Super Series competition in Vancouver. Teigan is polite, respectful and a great role model. Congratulations, Teigan – keep up the great work.
