The 2025 Tapworks Cup soccer tournament has raised more than $22,000 in support of the Sunshine Coast Affordable Housing Society.
Coordinated by Tapworks Brewing Company, the two-day event brought together 14 teams — including local favourites and visiting squads — for a community-powered showdown. With 450 attendees, 14 volunteers and backing from 21 generous community sponsors, the event showcased the Coast’s commitment to affordable housing solutions.
Players of all abilities hit the field, from first-timers to veterans.
Despite soggy conditions, deep puddles, and plenty of bloopers on day one, spirits stayed high. Teams with names like “Grass Stains” and “Smokey Stovers” kept the energy light.
On Sunday, under clearer skies, the Mixed Bag United team emerged victorious, a local team captained by Ken Campbell.
More than just a tournament, the Tapworks Cup was a celebration of community action and generosity. All proceeds will go directly toward expanding affordable rental housing on the Sunshine Coast.
