On Wednesday, June 18, Lon’s Gun Show squared off against the Barons. The Barons jumped out to an early lead, taking advantage of some walks and timely hits. Josh Gray started on the mound for the Barons and carried an 8–1 lead into the fourth inning, when Jim “Weepie” Peers came in to spell him off. The game settled down for Lon’s Gun Show, but Weepie was able to prevent them from mounting any sort of comeback. The Barons went on to win the game 9–3.
In the Friday night game at Hackett Park, the Bears took on the Raiders. Grant Chapman continued to swing a hot bat, showcasing his hitting prowess, while Kyle Trousdale demonstrated his wheels by stealing second, third, and home. Despite these efforts, the Raiders jumped out to a commanding lead in the second inning, powered by a home run from Mike Holme, and eventually cruised to victory.
Bill Stockwell is getting his wish: next week’s games will be held at both Brothers Park and Hackett Park on Wednesday, and at Hackett Park only on Friday. All games start at 6:30 p.m.
