Coast players score well

Junior golf

Sunshine Coast junior golfers Keenan Flemming and Jacob Bland both had solid rounds at the latest stop on the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT).

Keenan finished in a three-way tie for fourth place in the juvenile boys division with a score of 148 (75, 73) at the Lindsay Kenney Classic at Pagoda Ridge Golf Course in Langley April 25 and 26.

Bland finished alone in seventh place in the junior boys division with a 156 total (78, 78).

In the overall year to date order of merit standings, Keenan is fourth with a total score of 180 points, while Jacob is seventh in junior boys with a total score of 150.

The next tour stop is the MJT Ford Series at Swan-e-set Bay Resort in Pitt Meadows on June 6 and 7 — a qualifier for MJT Team Canada to the Srixon International Junior Classic in Australia.

The non-profit MJT, presented by Boston Pizza, is Canada’s number-one played junior golf tour, as well as the only national junior tour run exclusively by PGA of Canada Professionals and the Road to College Golf in Canada.
