Ava Hynd attains provincial time standard

Ava Hynd from the Chinook Swim Club attended Winter Provincial Championships for ages 12 and under athletes this season. To qualify for provincials, swimmers must attain a time that ranks them in the top 50 in their age group. Ava, 12, represented the Sunshine Coast at the Provincial Age Group championships in Vancouver Feb. 22 to 24. Ava swam 100 (1:13.86) and 200 (2:42.38) Backstroke, 100 (1:31.46) Breaststroke, 100 freestyle (1:08.90), 100 butterfly (1:18.24), and 50 free (31.40). All swims were impressive best times, especially her 100 Backstroke where she attained a provincial time standard for 14 and over provincials. Way to go, Ava, on all your hard work!
