My husband and I live in Totem Lodge and the only way we can get to our home in West Sechelt or to a family outing is by the handyDART. My husband is 90 years old and was born and raised in West Sechelt. I have lived here for 64 years.

Peter Schober is right in saying that BC Hydro's Burrard thermal station is a source of pollution (Coast Reporter letters, Aug. 14).

As a longtime Coaster and Creeker, I support a safer highway. A stoplight in Roberts Creek will cause dangerous traffic pile-ups in an 80km/h speed zone and through the S-bends at Cliff Gilker when traffic is busy.

Now that I am beginning to feel a bit better, I wish to thank the many people who assisted me at the time and after the accident I had on July 10 in the collision with a deer on Highway 101.

Thank you Maureen Brown, for your excellent letter (Tips for transit, ferries, Coast Reporter, Aug. 7). I too, have been trying to get the attention of "the powers that be" on this important issue.
