Editor: As John Gleeson noted in his write-up of the Coriolis economic report on the George Hotel, Gibsons Coun. Lee Ann Johnson certainly did use the report as a “springboard … to deliver a slashing critique of the proposal.” She, along with Coun.

Editor: I recently had the pleasure to spend a few days in my old stomping ground of Terrace. The Terrace-Kitimat area has many similarities to the Coast.

Editor: In the Coast Reporter, Oct. 3 article on Gibsons Elementary, “Students start late, school unfinished,” you have painted a picture from only one viewpoint.

Editor: I am a director in the Sunshine Coast Natural History Society, and have had the responsibility for managing the Sechelt Marsh for 11 years.

The following letter was sent to Gibsons council and copied to Coast Reporter. Most people I have spoken to are astounded when they realize how high the proposed George complex could be.

Editor: This is not a letter about The George. It is not about a conference centre either. Nor is it about water, views, the economy or condo-plexes. I will not discuss the overarching global meltdown rhetoric in this letter.
