The 'Get Out Migration' is an action spearheaded by B.C. marine biologist Alexandra Morton that is attracting international as well as local support. This campaign draws attention to the devastating effects of open-net fish farming on West Coast wild salmon and calls for a clear message to be sent to government that wild salmon must be given priority over these primarily Norwegian owned and operated farms.
The 'Get Out Migration' links the annual spring migration of wild salmon to the goal of getting these farms out of the ocean and into land-based, contained systems.
