The Sunshine Coast senior swim team was formed approximately one year ago, with the express purpose to compete in the B.C. Senior Games in Richmond.

Our team performed exceptionally well, returning to the Coast with a total of 15 medals, four of which were gold. Our success was due to the dedication of our six swimmers, three male and three female, and also the excellent support that we received from the staff at the various SCRD facilities, Ted Chisholm at Gibsons and Area Community Centre, Stacey Yasinowski at Sechelt Aquatic Centre and our coach Patrick Dickie at Sechelt Aquatic Centre.

We are once again delighted that you have recognized the importance of a senior swim programme for the year 2010 and that you have, at our encouragement, commenced a senior master swim program.

Our swim team has grown - we now number nine people, with additional swimmers showing a continued interest. We are now in a serious training mode for the upcoming Senior Games in September on Vancouver Island.

Thank you for your continued support for the senior swimmers on the Sunshine Coast.
