The following letter was sent to Gibsons council and copied to Coast Reporter.
Dear Mayor and council:
The board of directors of the Sunshine Coast Conservation Association (SCCA) commends Gibsons council for taking the courageous step of amending the Gospel Rock neighbourhood plan one more time by designating the entire waterfront as green space. This amendment, when finally incorporated into the plan, will solidify this community's commitment to respecting and conserving lands of special ecological value.
The SCCA expresses its sincere thanks to all of you for your thorough review and careful consideration of all the complexities related to this issue, and for responding so positively to the greater community's input.
We look forward to working with council in future as this and other issues command our attention, energy, and vision to protect Gibsons' natural assets for all who live here.
