I would like to thank the conservation officer (not a typo) for letting the bears eat my pet chickens. But according to him, bears do not eat pets.
I would like him to explain that to my friends' kids when they come over next time and there are no chickens for them to play with or eggs to gather.
To add insult to injury, he showed up a week after I phoned about the problem with a trap. When I saw him over at the trap, I went to talk to him and saw one of my dead pet chickens in the trap being used as bait. Talk about rubbing salt in the wound.
He did not understand there was no edible garbage in the can because the chickens used to eat all of the household table scraps. Two thumbs down. Not very happy.
