Most of us dumbfounded

About 20 years ago, the one-way Cowrie Street experiment was tried. It was a fiasco, and several businesses failed because of it.

Now, let's try it again. People driving from "north" (Pender Harbour or Halfmoon Bay) will have to turn left into the mall parking lot off the highway where there are no traffic controls because they will not be able to park onCowrie Street; people driving from the "south" (Selma Park or Davis Bay) will have to turn left into the mall parking lot. People backing out from the new parking stalls will be pulling out into one-way traffic.

Seventy per cent of 221 replies of "One Way Cowrie Street Idea" equals 154 responses. Is that enough to make such a decision abouthow local businesses are accessed? I think not.

Another concern is theFarmers' Market - where does it go? Apparently no thought has gone into that.

While four members of Sechelt council may think they can play God in downtown Sechelt, all the rest of the 30,000 people on the Sunshine Coast who use Cowrie Street and Teredo Street as part of our highwayare dumbfounded by council's decision.
