Lots of talk these days about so-called “toxic masculinity.” Not so much on the Sunshine Coast, though, and we can be thankful for that. It’s Coast women I’m starting to worry about. International Women’s Day is coming up and I see they’re working themselves into a toxic froth of their own. “Outrageous Women” is the title of a “literary salon” event on March 6 at the Gibsons Public Library. Here’s your chance to: a) be grossly offensive; b) go well beyond the bounds of good taste; c) have no regard for morality; and finally and especially, d) be violent. Wow. Oh, yeah, almost forgot – men need not apply. Damn. Oh, well. Time for men to step back. Go, girls!
