Driving daily from Secret Cove to Sechelt has become a game of “dodge the potholes.” And there are many, in fact it has become outright dangerous as cars cross the yellow line dodging so frequently. This is not a new problem, but one that has gone on without so much as a pothole being filled. And now the road has huge swaths needing repaving.

The area with the most potholes is the highway between Secret Cove and the north end of Redrooffs Road. Two weeks ago I noticed a road crew paving a new stretch of asphalt designated as a bike lane near Homesite Creek. While I am in favour of bike lanes, what about repairing a busy highway used by vehicles paying gas taxes, which are supposedly collected to help maintain the highways?
