Letters: Speed kills on Redrooffs

Editor: To the driver who killed the fawn on the 8400 block of Redrooffs Road Monday night: Maybe you were coming back from a free-from-COVID party, or a long-deserved night after work at the bar, but you were definitely going too fast.

To the driver who killed the fawn on the 8400 block of Redrooffs Road Monday night: Maybe you were coming back from a free-from-COVID party, or a long-deserved night after work at the bar, but you were definitely going too fast. Or maybe you were a tourist, and local speed limits just don’t apply to you.

One of my neighbours says there are lots of deer in the woods. But not this one anymore. I’ve seen locals stop for this fawn and its doe, letting them cross the road where one trail connects with another on the other side. Very cute, very Sunshine Coast tourist-scenic. The corpse is pretty mangled this morning, with ravens picking at the intestines. Not exactly where you want to take your selfie.
