Let's come together before it's too late

Unfortunately 300 words are not enough to address all the concerns I have. Talk about special interest groups - what's with this group of people who are trying to discredit Sechelt on the world stage? If they are so very clever, why don't they step up to the plate and put their time and money where their mouths are instead of skulking in the wings trying to tear apart everything that the current council put forward?

Thanks guys, for sharing your slant on the wastewater treatment plant with a local city paper; this will really help our community in moving forward.

In council meetings there's an elderly woman who garners attention because of her age where she may be nothing more than a scrappy young woman who has become a scrappier old woman. Age alone should not warrant respect. And then there's a retired union type who is able to rally a following, an easy task when so many people are sheep-like by nature.

All the fuss about the Ebbtide site puzzles me. Every one of the surrounding houses were built after the plant was there. The owners all paid accordingly for their properties and yet many think it fair that it be moved to Lot L where being on sewer is not even an option for those of us living in that neighbourhood. We will, however, be paying towards the new plant while continuing have our septic fields emptied, and we're not complaining!

With all this in-fighting we run the risk of imploding as a community - brought on by some of the very people in the community who profess to be looking out for it. Let's give our collective heads a shake and come together before it's too late.
