Everyone who plays soccer knows that Brothers Park has been closed since September 2012. That's right - closed.
What has the town done to the park since September? Not much. There has been some "drainage" work, but nothing significant; nothing that justifies closing the park to sports for all these months.
Why is this a big deal? It's a big deal because we have so few playing fields on the Coast. If we shut one down, other fields have to pick up the slack. If we shut a field down, and then don't make use of the closure (as in the case of Brothers Park) we lose a lot of goodwill in the community.
Brothers Park is an important playing field. Closing it is a serious decision. To close it and then not do significant work in a timely fashion is irresponsible and very disappointing.
And that is what I am, disappointed.
