Editor:
Congratulations to reporter John Gleeson for keeping Sechelt taxpayers informed about the District of Sechelt's unsafe Cowrie one-way ominous plan.
He reported in the April 26 edition that at a District of Sechelt committee of the whole meeting last week the RCMP, Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MOTI) and Sunshine Coast Transit attended the meeting in the event council would ask them questions about their safety concerns, public access and operational hurdles, some of which could end up costing a lot of money.
When advised that the public representatives were there to answer questions about their concerns related to council's Cowrie Street one-way controversial plan, Mayor John Henderson ignored the suggestion, retorting that it was not council "protocol."
Mayor Henderson, it is in the public interest that you and council work together with the RCMP, MOTI and transit system - friends who care about Sechelt's well being. My advice to you and council is to cancel your unsafe one-way Cowrie Street needless plan now.
