Re: restricting ATV use on the local trails. The Sunshine Coast Trail Society (SCTS) has not widened nor is planning on widening any trails for ATV use.

I am one of a group of people who, starting in the early '90s, tried to have a reasonable area of Mount Elphinstone primary forest protected from destruction.

The Transportation Safety Board (TSB) released its safety issues watchlist last week.

In the June 12 Coast Reporter, there was a Q&A from the Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) about recycling. In the last paragraph, it said that "single stream recycling" is a good method if done properly.

In the letter written by Hans Penner (Coast Reporter, June 12), Hans accurately points out that we are all blessed to be living in such a beautiful place.

At their May 27 meeting, the Sunshine Coast Trails Society (SCTS) made a PowerPoint presentation with symbols representing all trail users, from hikers to horse riders to ATVs.

I noted that the plans for the expansion of St. Mary's Hospital includes single rooms for patients (Coast Reporter, June 12).

Cathie Roy (Cathie's comments, June 12 issue) missed the point of the meeting on June 10 regarding a transition house at 545 Pratt Road. A good listener would have realized that the main focus of concern was "location.

I would like to comment on your question of the week, Are you in favour of the VisionQuest facility on Pratt Road? Although I think the question is timely, I think the wording is very misleading.

Now that speeding through the Gibsons and Area Community Centre has been addressed (Coast Reporter, May 22), how about on Park Road itself? Gibsons town trucks, taxicabs, commercial trucks, dads, moms, RCMP all drive more then the posted speed limit
