Editor: On Sept. 24, local MP John Weston passed a new Fitness Bill that encourages local governments across Canada to open sports facilities for free public access, on the first Saturday of June each year.

Brace yourself, folks, for yet another round of scary ferry hikes. Once again, the prospect of huge fare increases and trip decreases is on the horizon. Over the next three years, it will cost 12 per cent more to take that trip into town.

Editor: With the new technology of "fracking" in the oil and gas industry, it is projected that the United States will become self-sufficient in energy between 2015 and 2020. Vast recoverable resources have been discovered in many parts of the U.S.

Further to the article by staff writer Christine Wood on the Sechelt Legion #140 (Coast Reporter, Sept. 28). Although I am not a veteran, I've been a member of this Legion.

Editor: To the woman and her daughter yelling at me while I was "absent" at the passenger drop-off at the ferry terminal (Coast Reporter, Sept. 21, kisses and kicks column). People are so quick to judge and assume.

The following letter was sent to the Ministry of Transportation and copied to Coast Reporter. I have some serious concerns about Highway 101 and the volume of traffic.

Editor: I fully support water metering to conserve and better manage our precious water resources. However, I do not support the use of wireless technology to transmit the water use data.

Editor: As a merchant in Lower Gibsons, I am 100 per cent in favour of the hotel, convention centre and condo complex put forward by Klaus Fuerniss. We need to make changes. There are some people who do not want this area to change.
