Editor: Re: “Another Road to Literacy,” Letters, Feb. 5. Thank you June Meyers for your poignant letter regarding the importance of drawing leading to literacy.

Editor: Re: “Air travel rules defy logic,” Letters, Feb. 12. Bruce Smith’s claims that Canada’s recent travel restrictions are “outrageous” and “hypocritical,” and “defy rational behaviour,” ignore basic facts.

Editor: Re: “Stop logging in old growth,” Letters, Feb 12. I had to respond to Dhyana Bartkow’s letter to correct some significant errors that it contained.

Concerns raised this week by B.C.’s ombudsperson are the latest in a series of red flags about the state of long-term care home visits in this province.

In a December column I urged weary readers to maintain COVID discipline, keep their Christmas celebrations small and hang on for what I assured them would be the best Family Day ever. This, of course, was a typographical error.

Editor: Re: “Don’t blame the cats,” Joseph Davis, Letters, Feb. 5. I really enjoy reading Tony Greenfield’s informative Good Birding column in the Coast Reporter but I found Joseph Davis’s letter to the editor a little disturbing.

Editor: Re: “Don’t blame the cats,” Joseph Davis, Letters, Feb. 5. I enjoy feeding my winter birds. They are truly beautiful. Mr. Davis, it’s not OK for cats to kill their share. Cats are house pets – they should be kept in the house.

Editor: Re: “BC Ferries mulls reservation system changes for Route 3,” Feb. 5.

Editor: There is a fairly simple fix to adding more capacity to the ferry system using existing ferry equipment and terminals.
