Art Perry used a nine iron from 125 yards away on the second hole of Sechelt’s Blue Ocean Golf Club course to score a hole-in-one on Father’s Day. Perry was playing with Ray Haag, who witnessed the shot.

Mountain Biking

The Sunshine Coast Slo-Pitch League hosted the annual Jamie Ross Memorial Tournament at Kinnikinnick Park in Sechelt June 7 and 9. The Sexpos won the ‘A’ division title in a hard-fought battle against The Fujis, 22-15.

There were plenty of puddles to jump at the third year of the ultramarathon Puddle Jumper Classic in Roberts Creek. Runners from as far away as Scotland visited the Sunshine Coast for the weekend to run either 25k or 50k.

Last Sunday marked the sixth annual Arena Bowl Pickleball Challenge at Gibsons Community Centre. The Sunshine Coast Pickleball Association’s tournament once again featured the talents of several of its 200+ members.

Youth on the Sunshine Coast who may have found golf inaccessible will now have an opportunity to start playing a game they can enjoy for a lifetime.
