Even though the weather was on the gloomy side, the atmosphere was cheerful and enthusiasm high at last weekend’s English and Western show days hosted by the Sunshine Coast Equestrian Club.

On Sunday, Sept. 12, local mountain bikers gathered to have some fun while raising funds to maintain local trails. They climbed from Brickers Cidery to the top of the Brat trail, and raced back down.

Blue Ocean Golf Club in Sechelt held its 2021 Club Championship on Aug. 21 and 22. The weather cooperated, and although Sunday was cool and breezy, the players stayed dry. Twenty-eight contestants teed it up in four flights for the annual event.

Bill Sneddon of Gibsons claimed his 15th Men’s Club Championship on Aug. 15 at the Sunshine Coast Golf and Country Club in Roberts Creek. Sneddon played in the final group with Myles Killackey and Mark Benson.

Isabella Watts is Sunshine Coast Skating Club’s (SCSC) August Skater of the Month. Isabella is nine years old and is transitioning from Starskate to Competitive Skate this year.

The smoke from fires away finally arrived on the Sunshine Coast to greet the players involved for the 2021 Sea Cavalcade tournament held at the Sunshine Coast Golf and Country Club in Roberts Creek on the B.C. Day long weekend.

The Sunshine Disc Golf Association (SCDGA) held its third tournament of the season last weekend with 30 participants competing across three divisions at Shirley Macey Park outside Gibsons.
