It was all about family for Halfmoon Bay's Dave Lamb at this year's Boston Marathon. Lamb ran his first Boston in April finishing in a time of 3:46. He qualified for the event in Edmonton at 3:23.

The ultimate singletrack mountain biking experience is back. The second annual BC Bike Race rolls through Sechelt on July 1, completing stage four of the epic seven-day race that starts June 28 in Shawnigan Lake and finishes July 4 in Whistler.

The regular season of the Gibsons Men's Alumni Baseball League ended on June 13 when Coastal Tire came up against tough pitching by Gibsons Jays' Cody Upson and Nathan Petzold in a 14-2 game. Upson and Petzold also contributed two RBIs each.

Sounds of cheering and honking could be heard in the late hours last Sunday night as several Sechelt Indian Band (SIB) youth soccer teams celebrated their weekend success.

The peewee Gibsons Slammerz and midget Crusherz are both having great seasons. The Slammerz placed third in a tournament in White Rock in late May in their first away tournament for most of the team.

Victoria's Bryan Toth staved off a hard-charging field to win by three strokes and capture the 2008 B.C. Men's Mid-Amateur Championships at the Sunshine Coast Golf and Country Club (SCG&CC) on Wednesday.
