Tom Gory, a long-time Sechelt resident in his 92nd year, will be dropping the puck at the annual Tom Gory Cup hockey game on March 21 at 9 a.m. in the Sechelt Arena.
Tom is one of the founding members of the Rusty Cranks Senior Men’s Hockey Club. Gory started playing hockey in his 60s and just in the past year had to hang up his skates.
He is a staunch supporter of all the club’s hockey activities and regularly joins members for their monthly Liars Lunch at the Sechelt Legion. Plus he joins right in to sell tickets and volunteer for the annual wind-up banquet every year.
The Rusty Cranks are an over-60 league who play for fun, exercise, comradeship and the opportunity to give back to the community – donations from functions go to the Special Olympics.
