Curling
Gibsons Curling Club invites everyone to an Open House and Birthday Celebration on Oct. 1 from 1-5 p.m.
The afternoon will feature a tour of the new ice plant and club, birthday cake at 3 p.m. and free introduction to curling all afternoon for anyone 12 years of age and older. If you would like to try the sport, please wear comfortable pants and clean flat-soled shoes. The rink will be cold, so please wear appropriate clothing.
Vancouver Marathon
Registration for the BMO Vancouver Marathon is open and sell-outs are anticipated again this year. The marathon itself isn’t until May 2017, but anyone interested in competing should register sooner rather than later.
This past May, the event welcomed its most registrants ever in its 45-year history, with runners from more than 50 countries.
