Dakota Ridge will be opening on Dec. 16 – snow permitting – with a revitalized Jackrabbit ski program for children who want to learn how to cross-country ski.

Sam Adams, parks and planning coordinator with the Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD), extended an invitation to anyone interested in going up the mountain this season to get out to the Gibsons and Area Community Centre on Dec. 3 where the SCRD will kick off the ski season.

“This is a time when you can come and pick up your season’s pass and have a cup of hot chocolate,” Adams said. “We’re going to have Sunshine Coast Search and Rescue there and do a bit of a season kick-off.”

Stefanie Reznick and Ryan Chapman run the Jackrabbit program. Season passes for Dakota Ridge are 10 per cent off from Dec. 3 to Dec. 15.
