The Chatelech Ski and Snowboard Team’s Pearl Deasey (pictured) placed second in girls’ snowboarding at a race last weekend. Evelyn Klassen came in fifth.
Half of the Chatelech students who raced placed in the top 10. Will Magnussen was eighth in boys’ snowboarding, and Ingrid Bryson placed ninth in girls skiing. In a race before Christmas, Gabe Crudele came third in boys’ snowboarding and Malcolm Stoddart placed fifth in boys’ skiing. Pearl Deasey placed third in girls’ snowboarding.
The team is working hard in their dry-land training, doing a combination of cardio and weight training.
The team has three more races before the North Shore championships in early February.
