The Sunshine Coast Skating Club congratulates Skater of the Month for May, Isabella Jones.
Isabella is 16 years old and attends Chatelech Secondary School. She says, “What I love most about skating is getting the opportunity to go to competitions and camps, and making new friends. My favourite thing to do on the ice is working on my solo and doing jumps. When I am not skating I like to hang out with my friends and family.”
Professional coaches Lesleigh Farr and Daryl Austman say, “Isabella Jones has shown great progress and maturity this year. Isabella is respectful to her coaches and teammates, she has helped out on the Junior Academy session and assisted with the younger upcoming skaters.
“Isabella competed in Jingle Blades, Regional Championships, Kelowna Super Series Final and Vancouver Island Super Series this year, winning gold at every competition. Based on her successful scores, she was invited to the Provincial Development Camp in Kelowna, which she attended. She is currently travelling to Squamish with 15 other Sunshine Coast skaters while no ice is available on the Coast. Continued success, Isabella!”
