The Sunshine Coast Skating Club’s Skater of the Month for February is Helena Vourtsis.
Helena is in Grade 7 at Gibsons Elementary School. Helena shows great sportsmanship, is a positive role model and has a good work ethic.
She represented the Club at Jingle Blades in November in Star 2, receiving silver, and will represent the Club in Star 3 at Regionals in Chilliwack Feb. 5 to 7. She is preparing for Skate Canada testing in February and for the Club Annual Performance Night on March 10.
Helena loves the wind blowing in her face and just everything about skating. Her favourite thing in skating is doing spins. When she’s not skating she likes to hang out with her friends and family.
