Els Mol, Joan Humphrey, Janey Talbot and Siemion Altman on the Sunshine Coast Senior Swim Team came back from the 55+ B.C. Games held in Coquitlam, winning three gold, nine silver and eight bronze for a total of 20 medals.
The Coast was also represented by some of the pickleball team. Cheri Reid of Gibsons won gold in pickleball in the women’s 2.75 doubles with partner Nancy Bruce of New Westminster.
Over 3,200 athletes plus their families, coaches, 1,200 volunteers and fans converged on Coquitlam for one of the largest community celebrations sport has seen in many years. This annual event showcases the outstanding athleticism of BC competitors 55+ and promotes the benefits of leading an active, healthy lifestyle.
