Youngsters from the age of five to 11 on 13 different teams participated in the year-end Sunshine Coast Baseball tournament at Brothers Field on Sunday, June 19.
T-ball teams played two mini-games and were awarded medals at the conclusion of a fun season. The tadpole tournament saw the Angels, coached by Robert Duff, and Blue Jays, coached by Christian Obeck, advance to the final.
The Blue Jays won a close game to win the final. In the mosquito division, the Angels topped the A’s in the morning semi-final in a nailbiter 9-8. In the final, the Angels kept it close. Great pitching from Fergus Pringle of the Jays and Oliver Tulk of the Angels made it a low scoring affair. The Jays held on in the end, winning by a score of 4-2.
