Sedona Allen, Haleigh Gagnon, Makenzi Harris and Emma Fuhrmann won first place in the Grade 3/4/5 medley relay at the SD46 elementary track and field meet on May 26 and 27 at both Chatelech and Elphinstone secondary schools.
Organizers Jim Gray and Mike Metcalfe extended thanks to both high schools for their support in this event, that saw close to 400 athletes enjoy two days of competition in high jump, long jump, discus, shot put, ball throw, sprints, and relays between schools.
Teacher Sarah Mani and the Grade 12s hosted a concession for parents and athletes as a fundraiser with the proceeds being forwarded to the community of Fort MacMurray.
Kudos to Scarlett McPherson and Alex Kim from Chatelech who stayed late to assist with the high jump competition on Thursday evening.
