Petersen leading the league

Former Gibsons Minor Baseball Association player and Elphinstone Secondary student Evan Petersen helped lead the University of the Fraser Valley Cascades Baseball Club to a second place finish in the regular season. This is the inaugural season for the Cascades who play in the Canadian College Baseball Conference (CCBC).

Going into the final weekend, Petersen was leading the league with a 0.56 ERA.

Petersen took a no decision in his final start and the Cascades took 3 of 4 from the TRU Wolfpack.

The CCBC Championship started Wednesday, May 10 with round robin play. The finals are set to go Sunday May 14 in Kelowna at Elks Stadium.
