Former Gibsons Minor Baseball Association player and Elphinstone student Evan Petersen opened the fall season with a bang.
Petersen was chosen to be the starter in the first ever game in the Fraser Valley Collegiate Baseball teams’ history.
Fraser Valley faced off against Vancouver Island Baseball Institute in a Saturday doubleheader at Fair Field Park in Chilliwack. Petersen was solid, going three innings and giving up just one hit and no runs while striking out three. Fraser Valley won both games, 9 - 5 and 5 - 3.
