The fans went home from the Roller Girls season finale having been thoroughly entertained by a hard-bruising and well-fought game on Sept. 12.
Sunshine Coast’s Red Tide Warning were down two players within the first 15 minutes due to serious injuries incurred during the game. This left only 10 players to defend against the 14 players on Nanaimo’s Harbour City Rollers.
And defend they did – a heroic effort was put out by all team members. The defence on both sides was ferocious with Nanaimo picking up lead jam and more scoring opportunities, but Sunshine Coast steadily stayed in the game and won some great power jams and had the fans cheering in their seats and applauding their efforts.
The second half saw Red Tide pick up further points and push till the exhaustion hit, but Nanaimo took the win.
All in all, it’s been great season for Red Tide Warning.
