This past weekend the Sunshine Coast Minor Hockey Association (SCMHA) hosted a 16-team Peewee C tournament at the Gibsons Area Community Centre and Sechelt Arena.
Teams came from as far away as Seattle to take part with other teams from Cloverdale, Langley, Surrey, Aldergrove and other communities across the Lower Mainland.
The gold medal game of the tournament saw two Langley minor hockey teams trying for the top spot and the gold medal went to Langley LY3, silver to Langley LY6 and bronze to Cloverdale C4.
The SCMHA has two Peewee C teams – 11 and 12 year olds – and 16 teams total. Tournaments like these are great fundraisers for the association and help keep the costs of hockey affordable for kids on the Sunshine Coast.
