Coaches and players should take note of several field changes for the next few weeks.Shirley Macey Park fields have been closed by the regional district due to the recent heavy rains.U15 boys games for Nov. 12, 19, 26 and Dec. 3, have been moved to Langdale Elementary at 12:45 p.m.U13 boys and girls games have also been moved to Langdale for the same dates with 9:30 a.m. kickoffs.All coaches should check the Sunshine Coast Youth Soccer Association (SCYSA) website on a regular basis for field conditions and closures. It's the rainy season and the fields are taking a beating from Mother Nature.The SCYSA is still trying to locate their field lining machines. If you have one, please contact Vanessa Clarke at 604-740-9976 and let her know the location of the liners.On the pitch, the U13 girls' Stingrays played the Douglas Park Rangers last weekend and came up with another sound effort.Olivia Cantarutti earned player of the game after her 25-yard looping shot found the net for a Stingrays' 1-0 win. The strong defensive efforts and solid goalkeeping have powered our girls to a draw and two wins in the last three games.Coach John Lussier has really got his Adrenaline going.The U12 boys came up with a strong effort in the pouring rain to shoot down Westburn Bombers 2-0. Dalton LaFavor took a rare turn at left wing and buried a nice through ball from Jason Talbot to get the lead halfway through the second half. Cosme Hlatky made it 2-0 as he bundled the ball in from a goalmouth scramble, resulting from a corner kick. That puts the lads in a first place tie with Douglas Park who will be their next league opponents. Next week, the Adrenaline will face ICSF, who are second in the gold one division, in a league cup game.A cross-country running event robbed the U15 SC United boys of players. Eleven boys turned out to face a South Burnaby Men's Club team. United jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but South Burnaby were awarded two consecutive penalty shots and they sank both.South Burnaby saw that United were short of substitutes and just kept throwing fresh legs into the game. The locals upped their work rate and prevailed. James Van't Schip and Stewart Richey played their hearts out on defence. Goalie Sam Hilstad came up with key saves, especially in the last 15 minutes, to hold United in the game. Goals came from Kerry-Patrick Hlatky with three and singles from Connor Richey and Dolf Vermeulen as United were on the right end of a 5-4 score.The U16 girls' Chaos travelled to Chilliwack and found a field that was fit to play on (only one of two open in that area).Outstanding play by Abi Kellett and Alana McKerracher helped Tejada Stewart's goal stand up for a hard fought 1-0 win.The U17 boys Strikers played the Falcons who won the league last year and who were 4-2 winners in a September game.Daniel Gabriel opened the scoring for the Strikers but Falcons came back with an equalizer. Then the Strikers had a goal disallowed for interference, so the half finished at 1-1. The Falcons upped the intensity, but our boys played a spirited second half to come away with a 1-1 draw.Games for the U15 girls' Scorpions and the U14 boys' Celtics were postponed due to soggy field conditions.
