The final floor hockey game and season windup on March 7 was a huge success. It was the annual RCMP and Sunshine Coast Bears meet-up at Chatelech. The game was very close and full of laughs. It is always good to watch a sport being played without the worry of serious competition and just letting loose and having fun.
Michael Brooks’ work with Evan Pluschke that night was awesome and made for some fantastic goals. Michael has held the position of athlete coach with the Bears for about seven months. He has been taking part in an opportunity for some athletes who have wanted to take on a leadership role in supporting their peers.
Thanks to officers Kevin Sheppard, Ed Harrison, Mike Laverick, Chris Backus, Tamara Backus, Tess Cameron, Glen Martin, Kyle Hrynyk and Nicole Hall for spending a splendid time with our athletes.
Thanks as always to coaches Mike Gojevik and Darren Lane for dedicating their Tuesday evenings all season long and to organizing this fabulous affair.
